On Sunday 23rd June, Ringwood Bowling Club hosted a lively and engaging tournament, bringing together representatives from Ringwood Town Council (RTC) and Ellingham & Ringwood RFC (ERRFC). The event was an opportunity for participants to enjoy an afternoon of fun and friendly competition while learning the finer points of lawn bowls.

The tournament kicked off with a warm welcome from Barry, who expertly explained the rules and provided valuable tips to the enthusiastic participants. Throughout the afternoon, players experienced the joys and challenges of the game, discovering both how to bowl and how not to bowl!

Following the tournament, the Club laid on a splendid buffet, allowing everyone to relax and share their "I nearly hit the Jack" stories. The camaraderie and community spirit were palpable as everyone mingled and enjoyed the delightful spread.

The tournament concluded with the presentation of trophies, celebrating the standout performances of the day. The winners were:

  • 1st Place: Steve Carey of ERRFC
  • 2nd Place: Cllr Luke Dadford of RTC
  • Most Improved Player: Ben Carey of ERRC, who made a notable impression by ditching his crocs and playing barefoot!

This event highlighted the joy of community engagement and friendly competition. Participants are already looking forward to the next encounter, with a rematch at ERRFC eagerly anticipated.
