As part of a nationwide act of celebration and friendship to mark the Coronation of His Majesty the King and her Majesty the Queen, Ringwood Town Council is delighted to be hosting a celebratory event on Sunday 7th May 2023 on Bickerley Village Green.

The event opens at noon with live music from The Tuesdays Community Singers followed by international vocalist Jodie Elms, male soloist Tommy Ryan and finishing with vintage vocal harmony trio Scarlet Swing. There will be a range of inflatables for the young and young at heart to enjoy, a miniature steam train, small fair, craft stalls, BBQ, bar and many other food stalls. The event is free to attend. Just bring a picnic blanket to relax on and soak up the atmosphere.

Chris Wilkins, Town Clerk of Ringwood Town Council said, “we are looking forward to the community coming together to mark this significant occasion. We want to say a special thank you to the groups who have once again come together to help us put on what we hope will be a memorable event including Churches Together, Ringwood Carnival, Ringwood Men’s Shed, the Rotary Club of Ringwood and Ringwood and Fordingbridge Lions.”

As ever, a generous number of local businesses and organisations have helped to sponsor the event including Economy Van, Allum and Sidaway, Lonsdale Wealth Management, The Railway Pub, Kimbers Flooring, Simply Beauty, Unity Lodge, Elliot’s, India Cottage, Grants Estate Agents, Frettens and Ringwood Motor Co.

The event is part of many Coronation ‘Big Lunches’ which will take place up and down the country on Sunday 7th May. This follows the Coronation Ceremony which takes place on Saturday 6th May at Westminster Abbey, London. There will also be a spectacular Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle. On Monday 8th May a special Bank Holiday has been proclaimed, giving everyone the opportunity to join in with their communities and good causes through ‘Big Help Out’ activities. A list of local opportunities will be available on the Town Council website.
