Council Celebrates Long Service Awards for Dedicated Staff

The Council recently held a special ceremony to recognise four long-serving members of staff for their outstanding commitment and dedication. Together, they have contributed an impressive 108 years of service to the Council, a testament to their loyalty and unwavering support of the community.

The recipients of the Long Service Awards were:

  • Stephen Smith – 42 years of service
  • Jo Hurd – 23 years of service
  • Helen Short – 23 years of service
  • Paul Ventham – 20 years of service

Each awardee was honoured with a Certificate of Appreciation and a personal gift, celebrating their invaluable contributions to the Council.

Town Mayor, Cllr Rae Frederick praised the recipients, stating: “The dedication of our long-serving staff is truly inspiring. Their commitment to serving our community for decades speaks volumes, and we are immensely grateful for everything they’ve done."

The event underscored the council's appreciation for the individuals who have contributed to its continued success and the well-being of the community over the years.
