Ringwood Town Council seeks residents to join in developing the Ringwood Neighbourhood Plan

Ringwood Town Council seeks residents to join in developing the Ringwood Neighbourhood Plan

  • By: Ringwood Town Council

Lots of people have opinions on how Ringwood should develop in the future. Maybe you want to see more lower priced starter homes? More cycle routes? More protection of our heritage? Ringwood's Neighbourhood Plan will set out how development should occur in future years. The plan will be used to inform local planning decisions, and can set out land use for facilities, infrastructure, housing and employment. The Town Mayor, said ‘For too long decisions have been made about development in Ringwood, solely based on the Local Plan for the District, which doesn’t necessarily meet many of the needs of local people." Chair of the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group went on to say 'Developing a Neighbourhood Plan is about all of us, the people of Ringwood, having a say in the development of our town. So we need people to join in and give their views.' Currently four teams are forming to look at different aspects of the Plan:

  • Town Centre
  • Design and Heritage
  • Environment
  • Housing

Is the future of our town something that interests you? Would you like to share your ideas and maybe have them shape our future? Could you spare a little time to help? Please contact Deputy Town Clerk, Jo Hurd, at the Town Council by emailing Neighbourhood.Plan@ringwood.gov.uk if you would like to join in or just learn more about how you can help.
