Greening Ringwood - Phase 2

Greening Ringwood - Phase 2

YOUR Invitation to a Public Meeting
8.00pm on
 Wednesday 5 July 2023
Trinity Centre, 53 Christchurch Road,  Ringwood, BH24 1DH

We are sure you have heard David Attenborough and others tell us, we need to take serious action on Climate Change.  We are also sure that many of you are already acting, both individually and in community groups, working away doing amazing things within your area of passion.

We would like to invite you all, active and those wanting to act, to a Public Meeting to find out how we can be stronger together!

Our Ringwood Community has been selected as one of only 20 towns and villages in Hampshire to receive lottery funded support to help us in our aims, to bring us together, and make us all more visible.  This should bring more volunteers to all projects (existing and new), make more people aware of what we are all doing, and provide an injection of momentum.  This is not to derail any existing projects but to offer support and help, allow us to learn what each other are already doing (or want to do), find where our work overlaps, and fill in any gaps.

If we really want to tackle Climate Change, we are going to need to act together and build our presence and momentum,  getting everyone to join in.

There is funded support available for:

  • Space for Nature  from the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust
  • Energy Efficient Warmer Homes  from the Sustainability Centre and the Environment Centre
  • Climate Impacts on Health & Wellbeing from Anthea Cooke Consultant
  • Waste Prevention from the Greening Campaign and  Hampshire County Council Waste Prevention Team
  • Cycle of the Seed - Food and soil health – support from Garden Organic (formerly Henry Doubleday Research Association)

Councillors from Ringwood Town Council will be supporting us in the extension of this exciting project.

This is a huge opportunity which includes monitoring and evaluation from the University of Southampton so we can learn how effective we are being.  This then builds blue prints for future communities wanting to start the journey, so they don’t have to reinvent the wheel, making practical steps for them to be more successful and less stressful.

We are inviting you to come and learn more.

Terena Plowright the Founder of The Greening Campaign is coming to speak at our Public Meeting,   on Wednesday 5 July 2023 – 8  pm at Trinity Centre, 53 Christchurch Road, Ringwood BH24 1DH

We’d love to see you there and hope we can tackle all these issues together – please send your reply to greeningringwood@gmail.com  - Thank you from The Greening Ringwood Team
